At Fitzroy, every player is expected tocontribute, be committed, and uphold our standards, and in return we’rededicated to ensuring all players enjoy their football and receive fairopportunities to develop and play their role in the team.
U7– Boys / Mixed
Players must have completed at least one term of Auskick to register for U7s.
U8 to U10 Girls
As a growth area of our game and club, we aim to give all girls that register anopportunity to play.
U8 to U11 Boys / Mixed
Players from the previous season have until 31 January to register to secure their playing position for the upcoming season.
U12 to U14 Boys/Mixed| U15 to U17.5 Boys
Players from theprevious season have until 31 January to register to secure their playingposition for the upcoming season.
U12 to U18 Girls
As a growth area ofour game and club, we aim to give all girls that register an opportunity toplay.
Training sessions provide an environment where players can focus on the development of their football skills.
Training will occur as scheduled unless advised by the coach, team manager, or the club via Team App.
Players are expected to attend all training sessions and advise coach via Team App as early as possible and at least 1 hour before training if they are unable to attend.
Junior Players | Parents are to message unavailability
Youth Players | To help build their communication skills, youth players are strongly encouraged to message their unavailability
Players that are not respectful of volunteers’and other players’ time and effort are subject to disciplinary action:
· Players may be sidelined from training activities for up to 5 minutes at a time as a consequence of disruptive behaviour.
· If a player commits a serious offence of abuseor disrespect, the player may be sidelined until the end of the trainingsession and may be subject to further disciplinary action.
Players are expected to attend all matches, even if listed as an emergency and be ready to play if required. Coaches must be advised via Team App as early as possible and at least 1 hour before the match if players are unable to attend.

Youth teams are competing for premierships and game day squads will be selected on merit according to the coaches’ and team manager’s records of player participation at training and their dedication to their own development.
Players that adhere to the team commitments above are not to be rostered off for consecutive games.
Players will be selected for finals on merit at the discretion of the coaches and team manager and in accordance with SANFL Juniors Policy.
Juniors U7 - U11
The rotation of all players through a variety of positions in a game and season is designed to allow players to experience the skills and roles required in different positions, and to ensure all players are provided with equal opportunity.
Every player in a team should play at least half a game, and no player should spend more than half a game in any one position.
Youth U12 -U18
Coaches’ discretionis to be used in rotating players based on:
Developing players to be able to play in multiple positions.
Encouraging a high-performance culture
Juniors U7 - U11
Each player will receive a recognition of participation.
Youth U12 - U17.5

Footy teams are not only about social interaction for the players, but also for the parents, carers and guardians. Our parents, carers and guardians are role models to our youth players and when you get involved in the club, our next generation will see the value and understand the importance of contributing to the community.

The other game day duties can be filled by therest of the team’s parents on a roster, issued by the team manager, or parentsmay volunteer to take on one of these roles for the season:

Ground set up / Ground pack up
If you are undertaking a regular role for the season, it is a requirement that you provide a current WWCC to the Junior Secretary before commencing the role.
